The Chicken Coop

The Chicken Coop was hatched on February 14th, 1995, and has remained exclusively family-run since its inception. Owner, Valerie Retzlaff, has a passion for all things quilting, sewing and crafts and has worked hard to create a unique shopping experience for the community and visitors. Her family has been instrumental in building the shop into a successful business.

If you haven’t visited The Chicken Coop before, start the experience by admiring the exterior painting, a work of love by artist Robert Murray. Inside, one room is filled with quirky, unique gift items, while another bursts with everything needed for successful quilting – from more than 1,600 bolts of quality cottons to books, notions, and patterns. Many quilting kits are exclusive to The Chicken Coop, as are numerous patterns designed by local quilting artist Diane Johnston.
